Smartphone filming for journalists: Tell stronger stories with the kit you already have
Women in Journalism is offering a practical new lunchtime session with former BBC journalists and video producers Samantha Smith and Chris Quevatre.
This friendly, one-hour session is designed for journalists who want to feel more confident filming and recording high-quality content using just a smartphone. It’s ideal for anyone who has little or no technical experience but wants to improve the quality of their video and audio for interviews or social media.
Samantha and Chris will share simple, effective techniques to help you capture clear sound, frame interviews professionally, and avoid common mistakes that can undermine otherwise strong journalism. The focus is on quick wins and real-world tips you can apply immediately, without needing expensive kit or complicated software.
The session will include practical demonstrations and time for questions.
It will take place online at 12.30pm on Tuesday 6 October.
