We’re launching the first Women in Journalism hackathon, designed to help women turn their journalism tech ideas into reality. It’s being held at Google’s Holborn office in partnership with the Xoogler network.
Journalists will be put into teams to spend the day building an idea. Members of the Xoogler network — a 32,000-strong community of former Google employees — will be on hand throughout to help when you get stuck and support the projects.
At the end of the day, each team will present what they’ve built to a judging panel. Prizes have been kindly donated by Tesco.
You’ll be asked to submit an idea in advance, but if you don’t have one we’ll pair you with someone who does.
The day will run on Friday 17 April from 10am until 4pm, followed by drinks. Tickets are extremely limited.
Your ticket also includes an online session in advance on vibe coding with Xoogler network lead Sal Mohammed.
If tickets are sold out, you can join the waitlist here and we’ll email you first when we announce the next hackathon.
