WiJ x Sophiana Fellowship - Apply now

Our 2024 Georgina Henry Award winner, Sophia Smith Galer, has launched her project: Sophiana, a scriptwriting and teleprompter tool that turns news articles and academic research into algorithm-ready videos.

As part of the launch, Women in Journalism is partnering with Sophia Smith Galer for the Sophiana x WiJ Fellowship.

We’re looking for women and non-binary journalists who want to upskill in online video this year and use TikTok and Instagram to curb misinformation and amplify their reporting.

Up to 10 journalists will be selected to get free access to Sophiana in addition to 6 months of 1:1 support and resources from me. The fellowship will begin in early September.

The fellowship is best suited for someone who publishes written output at least once a week, and is eager to turn journalistic work and research into video content at least once a week too.

Successful applicants will hear back by July 11th.
