Having a French boyfriend of nearly four years meant that I had always known that moving to France would be a possibility at some stage. The question was - when? I had initially planned, after finishing my undergraduate degree (English and Classics) at Exeter University and my master's degree (Linguistics) at Oxford University, to work in England for a year, build up savings and properly arrange the move, and then take the plunge. However, as with so many things in life, this didn't quite go as I had expected.
