- Further information: "Adenike was 17 years old when she returned to England to continue her studies. She had been influenced by copies of Vogue Magazine seen at the homes of various friends in Lagos and intrigued by the whole concept of how the magazine was put together rang up Vogue Magazine a few days after landing and audaciously asked them if she could see how they operate. The receptionist put her through to someone in editorial. The person on the other end of the line took a deep breath realising that a 17 year old was on the other end of the line and said call me back tomorrow I will see what I can do. Adenike did not call back. She lost her nerve and it was time to go to boarding school in Shropshire for her 'A' Levels. But Adenike never lost her interest in Vogue and other magazines including Tatler, Ebony, Essence, Roots and Woman’s Journal and even began writing a peace for Vogue Young Talent of the Year Contest. However other things had to take priority and that was academia. Which meant completing her “A” Levels and getting a degree and going into one of the professions. After teaching in Nigeria for a short while and working at a bank in London Adenike spent 14 years working in Local Government and the Civil Service but the interest that she had in writing and fashion re-surfaced. She has written for West Africa Magazine, News Africa, Island News and Ovation Magazine. She has since founded VILLETTE MAGAZINE and is the Publisher & Editor-In-Chief. Villette Magazine, is a magazine for the discerning, educated and sophisticated West African and Afro Caribbean. Covering Fashion, Etiquette, Lifestyle, Education, Technology, Property and Interiors.
